Opening Hymn: LSB 824 May God Bestow on Us His Grace

Psalm 84

Creed (Back Cover)

Lord’s Prayer (Back Cover)

1) The Ten Virgins

a) What’s the first thing we notice to be different about this parable?

i) What’s the difference between the two groups of virgins?

ii) How is this borne out?

b) Who’s the bridegroom and what is his coming?

i) Will there be time then to prepare ourselves?

ii) Will many who aren’t ready desire to become so?

c) What’s the great joy that we have reading this parable?

i) Are only attendants at the wedding feast?

ii) What does Jesus make us? How?

2) The Talents

a) Explain the different characters and objects in the parable, who/what are they?

i) How does each group understand the master?

ii) How does that change what they do with talents?

b) Does reading this parable make us feel confident in our salvation?

i) Then what’s the point?

ii) What’s our comfort? What’s our encouragement?
