The Book of Romans

25 February 2018

READ 4:1-3

  •  Summarize the life of Abraham

    • What did God promise him?

    • How did God seal that promise?

  • Why do you imagine that Paul moves to talk about this specific case?

  • Where is this quote from? “Abraham believed God and it was counted to him as righteousness.” Why is that significant?

READ 4:4-8

  • Paul speaks of wages, and due. What do all men deserve?

  • Who does David say are the blessed ones?

READ 4:9-12

  • Which came first, faith or circumcision?

    • What does this mean for the uncircumcised Gentiles?

  • How do you imagine a Jew would react to line, “Not merely circumcised?”

    • How is this similar to our Lord’s words from Mark 16, “Whoever believes and is Baptized will be saved . . . ?”
