The Marriage
As strange as it may seem the marriage of Ruth and Boaz can act as a model for Christian marriage. How so?
Both understood the nature/purpose of marriage and who created it.
Both understood their roles in the marriage
Both had faith in God
Does compatibility matter at all? Attraction?
What occurred once they were married?
To whom is this attributed?
Why does that matter?
Is this only the case for Ruth and Boaz?
What’s the connection between marriage and children?
Are Ruth and Boaz different?
No, they act as an example for us.
Naomi’s Redeemer
Whom do the other women bless?
Who is Naomi’s redeemer?
How is this so?
What is Ruth called?
Obed means, “One who serves.” Why is this such a fitting name?
The Genealogy
Why is this included?
How does it help explain why we have the book of Ruth in the first place.
What’s the significance of Ruth (though not listed) being in this genealogy?
Closing Prayer: Luther’s Morning Prayer, pg. 327
